FUNLAYERS hosts workshop at Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics and meets for the General Assembly

From October 23 to 25, the FUNLAYERS consortium gathered at the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics (MPI-MSP) to promote the workshop “Emergent Properties of Heterostructures”.

The event brought together leading experts to discuss the recent developments in the field and explore the future directions for the broad area of emergent properties of heterostructures.

The programme featured the inspiring contributions of eight renowned keynote speakers and several invited talks by researchers of the consortium’s entities: Alba, INL, and MPI. Participants also enrolled in engaging networking moments, insightful poster sessions and visits to the labs of MPI-MSP.

The initiative aimed at preparing the groundwork for collaboration within the project and discussing future collaborations for European Funding Applications.

After the successful event, the members of the consortium met for the 2nd General Assembly of FUNLAYERS to discuss the status of the project and the upcoming initiatives planned for 2024: two workshops at ALBA, a Hackathon and a Stakeholders’ Workshop at INL.
